August 30, 2007 Sam and Wrisque's last lesson before their first "A" show tomorrow at Chateau Elan.

The late August weather has been in the low 100s so we moved the lesson to 7:45PM to keep from melting down horse and rider. The pictures reflect the poor light available at this hour.

August 7, 2007 Sam and Wrisque have a lesson on the flat.

August 5, 2007 Sam and Wrisque have a lesson over fences.

Just as they went into the arena to warm up for their lesson a rain shower came up. Back to the barn to wait for the rain to blow over. How high can you make your mare jump with a squeaky pink lamb?

July 28, 2007 Wrisque has become a member of the Sunrise Stables Family, join us in welcoming her to our herd! As part of the purchase we got the first picture ever taken of our girl. It's hard to believe that our 17 hand 1400 pound mare was once only 27mm long.

We are looking forward to receiving some of her foal pictures very soon. We will post them as soon as they are available.

July 26, 2007 Sam and Wrisque tuning up for tomorrow's lesson after a week off following the July HSV show.

July 9, 2007 Sam and Wrisque getting sooo excited about another flatwork lesson. Eventually we can jump again, right?

While Wrisque was working in the ring the boys were doing their thing in the pasture. So much grass and so little time!

July 1, 2007 Sam and Wrisque working on the flatwork, flatwork, flatwork. This was a cooler day and the breeze kept us from melting away. Wrisque only lost 14 pounds today.

June 28, 2007 Summer is really here! Wrisque lost 32 pounds in today's lesson and only jumped a hand full of cross rails. Man is flatwork tough! Samantha ended the lesson just as lathered up as Wrisque but she didn't loose as many pounds.

April 5, 2007 Spring Break got school out of the way and allowed an extra lesson Thursday morning this week.

March 29, 2007 The vet came today for "well baby care" (spring shots).

While we were at it the vet took a look at Wrisque to see if we could figure out what was preventing her lead changes in the rear. After watching her work and doing some flexion tests we came up with a new protocol for her, time will tell?

This was an attempt to duplicate my favorite photo of Flex but somehow it didn't turn out as good without the vineyard of Chateau Elan in the background. You gotta admint though, she is a cure mare!

Pete was hanging in the arena waiting on his turn with the needle while the Mare gets all the attention! Some days a boy just can't get a break.

February 12, 2007 While Sam and Wrisque work out, dad takes apples to the boys in the pasture.

Here Skip is sticking his tongue out at Andy because he thinks Andy got more apples than he did. Everybody got six pieces but Skip is still not convinced he got his fair share.

Pete and Ace were hard to find in the pasture but I finally found them in the mare field, Pete just can't stay away from the girls and Ace never leaves his wing man.
