Apache aka Patch is a ten year old Paint mare. This photo is the first time that she has been ridden since she came to Sunrise Stables. She bucked with all four off the ground when we first put her in the round pen with a saddle on her back. After a little time free lunging with the saddle she settled down and Sam was able to mount her with no more bucking.
Looks like Joe is getting some competition for the "pinkest" outfit from Chloe!

On the left is "Look Out Joe" a dark bay registered 1999 Thoroughbred gelding standing 16.0 hands high that goes by the name Joe. Joe comes with some experience as a English mount but he will need some training to improve his flexability. He is a great grandson of the Tripple Crown winner, Secretariat. On the right is "Trax" a dark bay registered 1996 Thoroughbred gelding standing 15.2 hands high. Trax comes to us from three years of living on pasture and he is quite rotund at the moment. His grass belly makes him look a little mare-ish! Once we have an opportunity to work with them and get them into shape they will be available for lease.
